Humanitarian Aid and Bible Review

Image
It has been a busy week as we approach Thanksgiving Break! For social studies, students have been working hard on researching a specific humanitarian aid organization. They have been using the chromebooks to research information, and they have been organizing that information on posters. We also had a Bible test on Friday, and the students rocked it out during a Bible Jeopardy review game. For Final Jeopardy, the students were challenged to name all ten plagues. All groups did well, but only one group named all ten!

Band aids and Board Games

Today during religion, we talked about how important it is to say kind words to each other. We want to use healing words rather than hurtful words, so we put on bandaids to remind ourselves of this. Then students wrote down encouraging words about each other. I also wanted to include pictures from earlier this year when the students were able to play the Hatchet board games created by some of the students. I was so impressed by the creativity and thought out into those projects!

Hartley!

We had a blast at Hartley last week! Enjoy these pictures that show some of the highlights. Students worked through the confidence course, and one of the obstacles involved making their way across tire swings. Kids enjoyed their free time, and some of them built fantastic structures! Students took a STEM class where they designed and launched bottle rockets. Students learned about bird banding, and they were able to pet the feathers of one of the birds caught by the naturalist. Olivia had the privilege of releasing the bird! At the pioneer cabin, students learned about life in the late 1800s and early 1900s. They made funnel cakes on a cast iron stove! Enjoying free time playing giant UNO. At the pioneer cabin, students were able to try out a two-person saw.
